Our Work

While mining dominates the local economy, it will not create many new opportunities for work. Similarly, growing local commercial agriculture is not likely to involve labour-intense farming, and it is critical to develop diverse opportunities to create viable and sustained ventures. The Trust is cognisant of this reality and, in 2022, allocated R2.2 million towards a venture creation programme for new economies beyond the mining sector.
